That could very well have been the shortest 6 months of my life! Our little man, Sam, turned 6 months old yesterday and he just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter!
We just had his routine check up this morning and he's measuring in at 17 1/2 pounds and 26 1/2 inches - big boy! In every aspect, he's doing fantastic. His pediatrician couldn't quite tell, either, but it looks like he may be about to pop a tooth. That would certainly explain his chewing and drooling!
Physically, Sam is right on track. He's sitting up on his own now, though we need to be positioned behind him so he doesn't topple over. If we place a toy in front of him, he stays pretty focused, and therefore balanced, and can sit for quite awhile. He's much better about enjoying tummy time these days and I have a feeling that he'll be crawling before we know it!
Emotionally, Sam is just the happiest little baby. He's really into Peek-a-Boo lately and gets a huge kick out of Jack. He'll laugh and screech and coo whenever Jack is around to entertain him (and Jack always claims "Sam is HAPPY! Ha ha ha!"). It melts my heart watching the two of them together and it still amazes me how gentle Jack is with him - lots and lots of kisses and hugs. It's wonderful.
Here are a few pictures taken over Labor Day Weekend. I had to cram him into his little Ralph Lauren outfit - I had stashed it away with all of the 6-9 month clothes and it's a wee bit small for our little moose! Oh well, he's still super cute in it...
One more picture of Sam sporting a t-shirt from my Alma Mater, Northfield Mount Hermon. What a smile!
Happy 1/2 Year Birthday, Sam! We love you to bits!
