Jack's 2nd Birthday

Our little man turned 2 on April 29th - it's hard to believe how fast the years have gone by! Jack continues to amaze us every day with all that he does. He has been counting to 10 now for about 2 months, but he's now starting to actually count objects. He's also starting to say the alphabet (albeit a,b,c ... x,y,z --- not really sure what happened to the other 20 letters!). He loves to read his books, go to music class, swing his golf clubs and bats and, lately, has really really been into trucks. ALL kinds of trucks. He's all boy!

Physically, Jack is soaring. He's about 35 inches tall and roughly 32 pounds. We'll know for sure next week when he goes to his 2 year appointment. We're already into some 3T clothes (though I try an squeeze him into some shirts that clearly are a bit too small! Good thing Sam is right behind him!).

It was an absolutely beautiful day for Jack's 2nd birthday! Not a cloud in the sky, high 60s and a light breeze. We spent a lot of the day outside, had a great nap and then we just had a small get together. Jack's best buddies Blake and Magnus came over and we also invited Fritz (and little sister, Tacie) from music class. They all had a great time - playing with toys, riding bikes and trucks outside, eating pizza and cake. Here are some photos from the day!

Our handsome birthday boy.

Photo shoot with Mama. It's still a challenge to get photos of him.

Karyn and little Tacie ...

... and brother Fritz.

Blake.

Our Motley Crew (Magnus, Jack and Blake).

Little Sam - he was perfect for the whole evening! He definitely got lots of attention...

Drive, drive, drivin' in the car ... here we go, here we go!

Our great friends, Marcella and Ray ...

... and their little guy, Magnus.

Our good friend, Lee, who we have known for years made Jack's cake this year (I learned from last year to ask someone else to make it!). She's the pastry chef at Gerald's restaurant, so we knew that we were in for a treat. Little did we know that she would do such a stellar job. Not only was it creative, it was very very tasty. We have plenty left over for about 4 more birthday parties!

Checking out his birthday candle. We had practiced blowing it out that morning (with a candle in his birthday French Toast), but the pressure of everyone watching left Jack with a little stage fright.

Enjoying cake!

One of the only photos of Daddy! Gerald was busy taking pictures and getting videos of Jack's big day...

Thank you, everyone, for all of the great gifts! We all had a wonderful day celebrating Jack and the fabulous little boy that he is!
