Sam is 5 Months Old!

Our little man, Sam, is 5 months old! I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this - it's just going by too fast! I feel like we just welcomed him into the world yesterday...

Physically and socially, Sam is thriving. He weighs about 16 pounds and is 26 inches long. He's a big boy! We may start introducing solids this month, but he appears to be doing just fine with what Mama provides. Maybe once he pops a tooth (he's drooling an awful lot lately, and chewing vigorously on his fingers, so we may see a little pearly white before too long).

Sam has been able to turn over (both from back to front and front to back) for quite some time now. He's also very close to sitting on his own, and with lots of Bumbo practice, I think that it'll be any day now. His limbs are getting more and more focused and he practices grabbing objects on a regular basis. He loves his rattle toys and is quick to hold on to anything that comes in contact with his little fingers. Which means we have to be on constant alert with what we have in our hands (be it coffee, a necklace, our cell phones!). He's quite the investigator.

Socially, this little guy is just SO happy. He's always smiling and flirting and is such a cuddle bug. He LOVES to be with people and is constantly cooing and babbling (and lately little shrieks of delight!). He's a true pleasure and is simply wonderful.
