Tumble Class

Our little monkey finally has a place to swing, romp and burn off some energy! We signed Jack up for Tumble Class, which meets for an hour every Wednesday morning in Glenwood Springs. It's a 'Jack and Mama' date ('Not Sam! Not Dada! Just Jack and Mama!') which has been really wonderful for me. Sam and I spend a lot of time together for obviously reasons (nursing), so it's nice for a little one on one time with my eldest little guy. So, we head over to class and then hit Target for a 'treat' - Jack gets a box of Gold Fish and I get a STRONG Starbucks coffee. We tool around the store for a bit and then sing songs all the way home.

As for class itself, it's great! Jack's first session was more of an observation for him, but I was very impressed at how well he sat on his 'carpet square' and watched the other kids. He's the second youngest (and only boy) but he's incredibly coordinated and athletic for his age. By the end of the first class he was walking on the balance beam, doing somersaults and hanging on the rings.

Here are some photos from his third class. There was an obstacle course and Jack did a fantastic job listening to instructions, waiting his turn and executing all of his moves. I was extremely proud!

Up the cheese wedge...

... and off! He's quick.

Hanging from the rings where he promptly began to "oooh oooh, ahhh ahhh" like a Monkey. Very appropriate!

Chin up! And... HOLD. Very nice.

Into the tunnel.

And out.

Aside from spending time with Jack, this has been super fun for me because I used to take tumble class and then gymnastics as a kid. I vaguely remember the chalky hands and bruised shins, but definitely remember having a fabulous time.
