Spring has Sprung!

I don't want to jinx myself, but I believe the spring has finally started to arrive! The warmer weather is slowly melting away the snow, the days are getting longer and we're spending a lot more time outside ... So exciting! What better way to welcome the new season than by visiting the farm? We spent the morning feeding the horses carrots, running away from the frisky goats and giggling at the chickens. It was a nice little trip.

Here's a picture of Jack checking out the crazy Turkey. This guy was both extremely ugly and strikingly beautiful. At the same time. What an odd creature.

Kirsten, the organizer, and her son Chase.

Eyeing the donkeys and goats. Jack was a little apprehensive.

Cautious curiosity.

Jack was out of there - and, honestly, I'm glad he was! Those goats were a little too aggressive - not that I was afraid he would get hurt (the goats would just head butt him, sending him onto his own tush), but I was more worried that he would become so scared of the animals that he wouldn't want to visit again.

What came first? The chicken ...

... or the egg? Look at our sneaky boy trying to grab the eggs!

This crooked little smile gets him out of trouble every time.

Sam!! He absolutely loves the backpack (thank goodness, because he's in there A LOT!). He had a great view from above and but giggling the whole time at all of the squawking animals.

Playing shy-guy.

SUCH a sweetie pie.

We even had a chance to watch the horses get their shoes 'fixed'. It's amazing to watch such large, powerful animals remain so calm while having their shoes tended to. They are incredibly gentle creatures.

My boys!

We're really looking forward to visiting the farm down the road from us - Sustainable Settings. We had many visits last summer and Jack really enjoys his time there. Ahhhhhh, Spring!
