Better late than never...

Well, after 7 incredible months, I have finally sat down to create a space where all of our friends and family, spread across the country and world, can keep up with Jack's VERY busy life! It's going to take some time to catch up to where we are now, but at least I can give you all a current update...

Our little guy had surgery the second week of November for a inguinal hernia and undescended testicle. It was something that Gerald and I have been dreading since we found out it had to happen when he was three days old. It was a long day, starting at 6:30 in the morning with our check-in. His procedure began at 8:30 which was when our anxiety kicked in. One long hour later, they called us in to see Jack - groggy from the medication and extremely hungry. I have to say, babies are amazing. We went home that afternoon, and other than some swelling (and bruising in areas that would make any grown man cringe), you'd never know he had gone through the surgery! What a little trooper! It was definitely harder on us than on him.

So, his surgery was the 'big' event that we've recently gone through - though all events are big! Jack has 2 bottom front teeth, which surfaced the day after we got home from our trip back east. It was wonderful to see all of our family and friends and to intoduce Jack to so many different aspects of New England. Colorado is fabulous, but there's something very special about New England in the fall. We walked on the beaches of Cape Cod and Maine (seagulls are new and weird and impossible to catch!), visited L.L. Bean, saw the folliage at it's peak, cheered on the Red Sox (though somewhere, inside, we were rooting for the Rockies) and just soaked in all of the different scenes. Thank you to everyone who made the trek to Cape Cod! It was so wonderful to see you all.

Let's see - Jack turned 7 months on November 29th, and that morning managed to take a couple of tiny crawls -he'd balance on all fours, take a few shuffles of the legs, look at us with a proud, yet confused look, and then lay down. Exhausted. Then, he'd giggle and try it all over again. He's a strong boy (clocking in at about 19 1/2 pounds and 28" long), so he's been ready to move on his own for a while!

Speaking of moves, we're about to make a move into another home just 2 blocks away. Sadly, our cozy 2 bedroom is no longer cozy and we're in need of some more space. We'll be closing on the house the day after Christmas (thankfully, Mimi, Grampa G. and Autie Amy will be here to celebrate the holidays with us CO style and will be able to help!). We're crossing our fingers that this house will sell quickly.

Parenthood has been simply amazing. I never thought that such a small being could have such a tremendous impact. Jack is such an incredible baby - happy all of the time, good natured, eating like a champ, and has added so much to our lives. Not to mention, he's the cutest little nugget around! We are thankful every day for him.

I'll end on that note - for now. I'll try and be good about keeping this updated so you can see what life is like these days for the three Therons!

The door is always open here in Colorado, so please come visit! Love to you all!
