Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving at the Theron house was very nice this year - relaxing and low key. It's the only holiday that Gerald has off, so we try and take advantage of the entire day spending quality family time. Here are a few shots from Thursday... Above, Jack dancing in the kitchen. He LOVES music and is really into rocking out these days. Unlike his Mom, he can hold a good beat. Must take after his Auntie Amy...

Classic Jack smile...

Posing with Mama and Daddy... he wore his football sweater for the day. Too bad all three Turkey Day games were blow outs.

Waiting patiently for dinner.

Not so patient any more. Jack wanted the chicken to come out of the oven - "Eat!" he exclaimed while pointing to Gerald. Gerald made a wonderful dinner, again! The three of us would never be able to polish off a whole turkey, so he roasted a chicken all day instead. Potatoes, onions, cranberry sauce and peas accompanied. We even enjoyed my pumpkin pie and ginger ice cream for dessert. I'm embarrassed to say that this was my first pie EVER. Even though it took forever to cook in this altitude, it turned out pretty good! I guess you need to start somewhere.

This first picture of Jack eating was actually last year. I still can't believe the year has gone by so quickly! Life needs to slow down a bit... So, there he was, passed out half way through dinner. That was a 1/2 bottle of champagne, next to an ENORMOUS turkey bone. The other two were this year, where Jack was particularly impressed with the peas for some reason.

Off to the playground to burn off the food coma. Thankfully, the snow held off until today where we got just a little dusting Thursday night. Thanksgiving, in my opinion, is a fall holiday, so it was nice to have a bare ground and lots of brown. But, winter has moved in and December is right around the corner. We're trying to get as much playground time in before the slide and swings are buried in Colorado snow...

Rosy cheeks and a full tummy. It was a good day and we have A LOT to be thankful for!
